Great Northern Steeples Won by AH Irish CLARION CALL SCORES AT WANGANUI WINGATUI STEEPLES TO GAY BOA (BY ‘'THE GRAFTER.”) The Great Northern Steeplechase at the Auckland Racing Club’s meeting yesterday was won in brilliant fashion by All Irish. Brazen Bold accounted for the King George Handicap. The Wanganui Steeplechase was won yesterday for the third time by Clarion Call after a keen fight with Brigadore. The Empire Handicap went to Dictate.
Gay Boa accounted for the Wingatui Steeples at the Dunedin Jockey Club’s meeting yesterday and Balmenter won the Provincial Handicap. Dozie Boy, the outsider of the field, beat the favourite, Small Boy, in the Park Steeplechase at the Napier Park meeting yesterday. The Birthday Handicap went to Malacca.
