The ‘Taris Soir” says that five days ago two motor-cars arrived in France bearing King Leopold’s private jewels and crown and accompanied by the Royal Chamberlain. In the early hours of last Tuesday, before the capitulation was announced, the chamberlain tried to get. back the jewels and crown, but the authorities declined till lie had completed formalities, after which it was too late to recover the property, which was removed to a place of safety.
