NAZI THREAT

FORMAL FRENCH DENIAL.

The German Foreign Minister. Herr von Ribbentrop, through the Swedish Government, formally forwarded a Note to the French Government alleging ill-treatment of German airmen in prisons and threatening severe coun-ter-measures. The French Ministry of Information issued a formal denial and added that if reprisals were taken on the pretext of the allegations the French will reply similarly.
