PORT OF LULEA

NOW PARTLY FREE OF ICE. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day, Noon.) STOCKHOLM, May 31. Lulea is sufficiently free of ice to allow four ships to enter the harbour.

Lulea is a Baltic port linked by rail with Sweden’s northern iron mines, and is an avenue of supply still available to Germany. In a normal year Lulea is ice-free for about five months. The opening of the port this year is later than usual.
