WOMEN’S BRANCH

MEETING IN MASTERTON.

Mrs J. Robertson presided at the monthly meeting of the Masterton Women's branch of the New Zealand Labour Party. An appeal for subscriptions to a fund for a memorial to the late Rt Hon M. J. Savage was’received from the National Secretary.

A number of garments for refugees were received. Mesdames Grigg and Perfect were appointed to represent the branch on the Red Cross committee. Members are asked to bring garments each month. A report on the annual conference was given by the delegate, Mrs Robertson, and many matters concerning the policy of the party were explained to members. A vote of thanks to the delegate was passed on the motion of Mrs Milne. Mrs Kilgour will speak on the work of the Crippled Children’s Society at the next meeting of the branch.
