MARTINBOROUGH

SUCCESSFUL DANCE ST. ANDREW’S BIBLE CLASS. (“Times-Age” Special.) There were over 80 young people present in the Parish Hall when the St. Andrew’s Bible Class held a dance, which proved to be an outstanding success and probably the best ever held by the Bible Class. A dainty supper was served in the supper room during which the Rev. F. O. Ball (vicar of the parish) thanked those present for their support. The success of the dance was due to the untiring efforts of the joint secretaries, Misses Ruby Lumley and Betty Blackwell, who were suitably thanked for the most enjoyable gathering provided. At a late hour the dance concluded with the singing of Auld Lang Syne and the National Anthem. Novelty dances were won by Beverley McPherson and Les Harris, Joan McCardle and Bruce Kelly. June Lynch and Alan Grant, Ruby Lumley and Murdie Hancox and Patsy Duffy and Terry Mills. Soldiers Visit Their Homes. During the weekend many of the Martinborough soldiers now training at the Trentham military camp visited their homes. Among them were Privates J. F. Brasell, F. J. Braseli, J. White. G. J. Ronalds, R. Smith, C. McLeod, B. Campbell and L. Serra. Others were only on leave for 5 hours, but they. too. returned to their home town to spend their leave.
