HOME DEFENCE FORCES. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day, 9.30 a.m.) LONDON. May 27. The following appointments have officially announced: — Lieutenant-General R. H. Haining has been appointed Vice-Chief of the Imperial General Staff.

General FI. C. Jackson succeeds as Commander-in-Chief of the Western Command. Major-General B. C. T. Paget, Commander of the Eighteenth Division, has been appointed Chief of the General Staff of the Home Forces, with the acting rank of LieutenantGeneral.
