A novel design for a cruiser’s bows has been put forward, we read. We don’t quite see where else it could have been put.

The public is invited to the service of prayer in the Masterton Opera House tomorrow, from 12.30 o'clock to 1.30 o’clock. There will bc> two half-hour intervals, but those attending may come and go at any time. The Mayor, Mr T. Jordan, will preside, and the service will be conducted by the Masterton Ministers' Association.

A dance and card tournament will be held in St. Patrick's Hall. Masterton, tomorrow night at 8 o'clock, under the auspices of the Masterton Hibernian Society. The floor of the dance hall has had special preparation and combined with music by the Barnes’s Rhythm Boys’ Orchestra, an enjoyable time should be had by all who attend. Good prizes will be provided for the winners of the card tournament.
