Senator Pepper has moved a resolution to “authorise President Roosevelt to give the Allies aid short of war,” including the sale of United States aircraft, ships, artillery and war supplies to Britain, France, Austria, Czechoslovakia, Poland, Norway. Belgium. Holland, Denmark and others subject to unprovoked German aggression in violation of the Kellogg Pact or international law. MEXICO AS BASE DISTRIBUTION OF PROPAGANDA IN U.S.A. ATTEMPT TO CREATE DIVERSION BY HITLER & STALIN. (Receivel This Day, noon.) WASHINGTON, May 24. Mr Martin Dies, chairman of the House of Representatives committee inquiring into alien activities, stated that Hitler and Stalin were attempting to create a diversion in the Western Hemisphere by using Mexico as a base for the distribution of propaganda to the United States. He said the German agent heading the movement was known and he added that he had heard but did not believe that Germans were organising secret air bases in Mexico along the United States border. The Department of Justice is said to be planning to add a hundred G-men to the 150 already employed io combat the Fifth Column, Mr R. H. Jackson (Solicitor General) said the plan envisages registration of 3,500,000 aliens. ALIENS & COMMUNISTS BAN PLACED ON EMPLOYMENT. (Received This Day, noon.) WASHINGTON, May 24.. The House of Representatives passed a Bill barring Communists and members of the German Bund from employment with the Works Progress Association.
