EMERGENCY STORES

BUILT UP BY ALLIES IN MIDDLE EAST.

By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. BUCHAREST. May 24.

Rumanian export figures suggest that the Allies are building up huge emergency stores in the Middle East. Rumanian shipments of oil and foodstuffs to Palestine, Egypt and Syria in the first 10 days of April were 12 times the normal. Shipments of vital goods to Tunis, Malta and Morocco were four times the normal. Total Allied shipments for the same period increased sixfold. German shipments were not quite doubled.
