GERMANS AT BOULOGNE GENERAL SITUATION GRAVE. MORE ENEMY LIES DENIED. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day, 9 a.m.) LONDON. May 24. It is authoritatively stated that the Germans have occupied Bulz. They also occupied Boulogne last night. The general situation remains very grave. German reports regarding King Leopold and General Gort are incorrect. King Leopold is with his army in Belgium and General Gort with his army in France. INCREASED PRESSURE REPORTED BY FRENCH. (Received This Day, 9 a.m.) LONDON, May 24. The French morning communique states; “The enemy are endeavouring to increase pressure in the northern region. “Along the Somme we are firmly holding positions wrested ijrom the Germans. Southward of Sedan the enemy continued attacks without making appreciable progress, despite the means used.” GERMAN CLAIMS (Received This Day, 9 a.m.) LONDON, May 24. A German communique states: “Our troops have pierced the fortified Scheldt position in Flanders and captured the Tournai fortress, Maubeuge and the Loretta heights, north-west from Arras.”
