Mrs Frank Wall. Martinborough, is visiting Wellington. Mrs J. Reid, Blenheim, is visiting Masterton. Mr and Mrs Max Cleghorn. Cole Street. Masterton. have returned from a motor trip to Auckland. Miss Phyllis Duncan, Tiraumea, is the guest of Mrs Liverton, Seatoun, for a. few weeks.

Mrs C. C. Cook, The Terrace, Lansdowne, is to take up "her residence in Christchurch. Mrs E. Cave and Mr H. F. Cave (Levin) are at the Prince of Wales Hotel, Masterton.

Miss Joan Lizette and Miss Valerie Walker have returned to Hawke’s Bay after having been the guests of Mrs Reg. Houlbrooke, Tiraumea, for a fortnight. Mrs MacGillivray has returned to Christchurch, after a holiday spent in Masterton, Wanganui, and Napier, in company with her sister, Mrs Haig, Wanganui.

Misses O. Pain and N. Batchelor, of the Telephone Exchange staff, Masterton, left this afternoon for Wellington, where they will attend the P. and T. annual ball.

The death occurred at Auckland this morning of Mrs “Oak” Williams, sister of Mr B. Iveson, of Masterton. The late Mrs Williams was well known in musical circles in the northern city.

Mrs Reginald G. Kain, Wellington, mother of "Cobber” Edgar Kain, New Zealand’s No. 1 air ace of this war, will leave for England shortly, accompanied by her daughter, Miss Judith Kain. Mrs Kain hopes to arrive in England in time for her son’s wedding, which will take place in July if he can obtain leave which is due to him at that time. “Cobber” is to marry an English actress, Miss Joyce Phillips, daughter of Mr and Mrs G. Phillips, Rose Farm House, Mollington, Chester. Mrs Kain said last night that “Cobber” did not know she was coming.
