ODD FELLOWS’ LODGE

FORTNIGHTLY MEETING.

(“Times-Age” Special.)

The fortnightly meeting of Loyal Eketahuna M.U.1.0.0.F., was held last night, the N.G., Bro. S. Morriss, presiding over a good attendance of members.

Sick pay amounting to £26 11s 6d and accounts amounting to £39 2s 6d were passed for payment. Bro. J. Spring tendered his resignation as trustee. This was accepted with regret. Bro. Spring was accorded a vote of thanks for his past services as trustee.

The election of officers for the ensuing six months resulted as follows:— 1.P.G., Bro. S. Morriss; N.G., Bro. L. Gyde; V.G., Bro. H. Eagle; elective secretary, Bro. D. Scott; lecture master, Bro. J. Davis; conductor. Bro. L. Cooper; trustees, Bros. J. Davis and R. Farrow; lodge auditor, Bro. W. Steer. A lengthy discussion took place concerning the financial position of the lodge and several resolutions concerning the same were passed.

One candidate was initiated into the Order and accorded lodge honours. Bro. R. Farrow, who has been lodge auditor for a number of years, relinquished the position, and he was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for his past services. Bro. W. Olsen was also thanked for his services as trustee over many years. Supper was served after the meeting. Power Board Flats. The first tenants of the Power Board flats took up their residence there yesterday. Personal Items. Mrs B. Dinnan is on a visit to Palmerston North. Mr Harold Reeve, late of Konini, and who is well known in Eketahuna, won the middleweight section of the New Zealand Army boxing championship at Cairo recently.
