YOUNG FARMERS
MASTERTON EXECUTIVE. MEMORIAL TO PIONEERS. A meeting of the executive of the Masterton Young Farmers' Club was zJifiifHnks, lle ' d last night. Mr J. S. Mackay was in the chair. Il was decided to co-op-iWjl crate with the Masterton Collie Club in connection with their annual dance on June 6. Il was decided that the dance of the Young Farmers’ Club be held on July 4, and that the proceeds be donated to the Red Cross Society. It was resolved that the annual dance be held on August 22. It was decided to plant about thirty English ornamental trees at the Solway Showgrounds as a memorial to the pioneers of the district. The trees have been donated by the Department of Internal Affairs.
It was decided that a young farmers' picnic be held later in the year. At the next meeting, to be held on June 12, a series of movie films are to be shown.
