CHURCH SERVICES
The morning service at Knox Church tomorrow will be conducted by the Rev. John Davie, when the newlyelected elders will be ordained and inducted. At the evening service and the service at Kaituna, the preacher will be the Rev. R. S. Keenan. The Tinui and Langdale services will be conducted by the Bible Class group. At the Church of Christ tomorrow the services will be conducted by Mr W. J. Lowe.
Mr J. W. Clapham, from Palestine, will be the speaker at the Ruhamah Gospel Hall on Sunday afternoon and evening. Mr Clapham is a missionary who has visited many centres around Palestine and has gained considerable experience of the people and the country. Consequently he can tell a very interesting story.
On Sunday the services at the Methodist Church will be conducted by the Rev H. S. Kings. This day will be specially observed as “Mother’s Day.” The mornipg subject will be “Our Mothers.” At the evening service the subject will be "The light that does not fail.” The work of the Red Cross Society, and the St John Ambulance will be noted with reference to the great leader of modern nursing.
The services at the Salvation Armv tomorrow featuring Mother's Day, will be conducted by Major and Mrs Mahaffie. The Major will take for his subject in the morning service “A True Mother” and in the evening “The Blessedness of Motherhood." Owing to a sudden illness, Colonel Toomer will not be able to conduct the services as was originally attended. At the evening services at St. Matthew’s Church tomorrow there will be, in celebration of the birthday of Florence Nightingale, a church parade of nurses. Members of the St. John Ambulance, Nursing Division and V.A.D.’s will also attend. All other services will be as usual.
