It is officially stated that the Germans bombed the aerodrome at Longwy in addition to the military airports of the other French towns cabled (these are now described as not open towns). Eighteen bombers were shot down during those attacks. The aerodrome at Calais and some R.A.F. aerodromes in Northern France are reported to have been bombed. The raiders visited Paris, but did not drop bombs. Two villages near Boulonge are reported to have been bombed.
