MURDER BOMBING
GERMANS RAID OPEN TOWNS IN FRANCE NUMBER OF PEOPLE KILLED. AIRPORT ALSO ATTACKED. — By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. LONDON. May 10. German planes bombed several French towns, including the open towns of Nancy, Lille, Colmar, Pontoise and Luxeuil. Dead and wounded are reported at Nancy. Raids against Debron airport and Lyons began early this morning and continued .for two hours. One raider was shot down. MORE DEATHS BLOCK OF FLATS WRECKED IN LYONS. “ (Received This Day. 9.45 a.m.) PARIS. May 10. Thirteen persons were killed and thirty wounded by an air raid on Lyons. A block of flats was destroyed and a block of workers’ flats was hit. AERODROMES BOMBED FIVE ENEMY PLANES SHOT DOWN. LONDON, May 10. The Air Ministry announced that Royal Air Force fighters shot down five enemy planes during attacks against Royal Air Force aerodromes in France in the early hours of this morning. GERMAN REPORT (Received This Day, 8.45 a.m.) BERLIN, May 10. A radio message claims that German planes bombed military objectives in east and middle France, destroying three aerodromes, including one at Metz. WARNING IN BRITAIN PEOPLE TOLD TO CARRY GAS MASKS. LONDON, May 10. In Britain the Minister for Home Security issued a warning to the people to obey the air raid warning instructions and to carry their gas masks. INCENDIARY BOMBS DROPPED IN ENGLISH VILLAGE. (Received This Day, 9.10 a.m.) LONDON, May 10. It is learned that four incendiary bombs were dropped at Chilham, near Canterbury, early today.
