PUKETOI RUGBY UNION ANNUAL MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) The annual meeting of the Puketoi Rugby Sub-Union was held recently at Pongaroa. It was announced that the finances of the Sub-Union showed a splendid recovery from their recent set-back. The election of officers for lhe 1940 season resulted as follows: —Patron, Mr F. Armstrong (re-elected); president, Mr P. H. Donovan (re-elected); vicepresidents, Messrs C. P. Hunter, C. T. Richardson, R. J. Harman, D. D. Riddell, O. Olsen, W. T. Rautu, F. A. Meech, E. J. Knowles, C. Whitmore, J. A. Smith. W. E. Davies and T. O, S. Raleigh; secretary, Mr S. McLaren (reelcted); referees, Messrs W. Thomas, M. Power, W. Rautu and Geo. Thomson; sole selector, Mr P. H. Donovan (re-elected). The season will be opened on Saturday. It was decided to donate £lO to the Akitio County Chairman’s Presentation Fund for soldiers leaving for overseas LIST OF FIXTURES. The following is the draw for the first and second rounds: — FIRST ROUND. May IL—Tiraumea v. Pongaroa, at Tiraumea, at 2.30 p.m.;. Coast, a bye. May 18. —Coast v. Tiraumea, at Ransom’s, at 2.30 p.m.; Pongaroa, a bye. May 25. —Pongaroa v. Coast, at Pongaroa, at 2.30 p.m.; Tiraumea, a bye.
SECOND ROUND. June I.—Pongaroa v. Tiraumea, at Pongaroa, at 2.30 p.m.; Coast, a bye.
June 8. —Tiraumea v. Coast, at Tiraumea, at 2.30 p.m.; Pongaroa, a bye. June 15. —Coast v. Pongaroa. at Ransom’s. at 2.30 p.m.; Tiraumea, a bye.
