MORE MEN CALLED UP IN BRITAIN LATEST REGISTRATION DETAILS. GREAT NUMBERS IN RESERVE. The following Daventry announcements have been rebroadcast by the New Zealand national stations: — Two and a half million more men have become liable to be called up for military service in Britain. Eight age groups are included in the latest call for registration, which brings them up to men of 36. It is expected that age groups will be called up at the rate of one a month. ENEMY BOMBER SHOT DOWN. Hundreds of people on the northeast coast of Scotland watched R.A.F. fighters pursue and shoot down a Dornier bomber. This is the 69th German plane to be destroyed on or near our coast since the beginning of the war.

Another attacked by Fighter Command aircraft on the East Coast was probably the 70th. When this plane was last seen black smoke was pouring from both its engines as it made off out to sea.
