PLUNKET SOCIETY

MASTERTON BRANCH MEETING. VISIT OF NURSING ADVISOR. The monthly meeting of the Masterton branch of the Plunket Society was held yesterday afternoon, Mrs J. Caselberg being in the chair. There were also present Mesdames J. D. O’Connor, S. L. P. Free, C. A. Carmine, J. James, Sortain Smith, T. Jordan, R. C. Drummond, W. A. Michael, T. W. Wardell, J. V. Gordon, A. Ericson, E. G. Norman, T. C. Richardson, T. F. Watson,' and P. Nathan. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames R. Miller, A. F. Stewart. H. H. Daniell, D. Donald. N. Irwin, and J. M. Coradinc. The president reported on the visit of Miss Fitzgibbon, Nursing Advisor to the Council, on Friday, April 2G. when 50 babies were examined, weighed, measured, etc. and each mother was individually interviewed. Miss Fitzgibbon had expressed great satisfaction with the care of the bab-1 ies. J

Accounts for £4B 8s 2d were passed. The annual meeting was fixed for Wednesday, June 12. arrangements having been made by the committee. In this connection the draft annual report and balance sheet were approved. Thanks for a parcel of babies’ garments were accorded the Tinui Women's Division.

The Masterton Nurse’s report stated: Visits to office, adults, 423, babies, 394, pre-school children. 59; telephone, 1033. Visits to Jaomes, new cases, 29; old cases, 170; total, 199. Pre-school children seen in homes, 26. New cases chartered for the month, town and country, 15. Total number of babies on books. 434; pre-school children, 169. Tinui sub-branch (Tinui, Annadale. Langdale, Blairlogie): Two visits each, Homewood 1. New cases, 2; old cases, 22. Mauriceville sub-branch (Kcpuaranga, Mauriceville West and East, Mangamahoe, and Ihuraua Valley), one visit each, to homes. 1G visits. Pre-natal section, new cases 7; return visits, 9; visits to homes, 2; casuals, 2.
