YOUNG FARMERS

MASTERTON CLUB MEETING. ADDRESS BY DR. FORSYTH. The usual monthly meeting of the Masterton Young Farmers' Club was held in the Savage Club Rooms last evening. Mr J. Mackay was in the chair. There was an attendance of WSF was received from Mr Lamont concerning the South Island tour, and from the Red Cross Society, asking for support. A discussion took place on treeplanting at the Showgrounds, and it was decided to prepare the, ground for planting,and to plant ornamental trees. The main business of the evening was a lecture on social Yiiseases by Dr. J. C. Forsyth, of Masterton, who, at the conclusion of his address, was accorded a vote of thanks on the motion of Mr G. Blatchford. This was carried by acclamation. The members of the debating team are Messrs G. Buick, G. Blatchford and J. S. Mackay. Supper was served.
