LONG RECONNAISSANCE FLIGHT SCOTLAND TO NARVIK & BACK. AIR RECORD ESTABLISHED. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. (Received This Day, 10.15 a.m.) LONDON. May 7. A New Zealand crew completed the war's longest reconnaissance flight, from Scotland to Narvik and return, a distance of 2000 miles, occupying 141 hours. The flight-lieutenant in command of the plane is from Northcote, Auckland, the second pilot from Stratford. and the wireless operator from Auckland. All are members of the R.A.F. New Zealand bomber squadron.
