A fairly stiff campaign in recent months appears to have done him good and there will not be a fitter horse in the field. In his last eleven starts Roy Bun has had six wins, one second and two thirds, most of his successes being easy ones. He has won over a mile bnd a quarter and under 8.1 or less he promises to be a hard horse to beat. Should Win Again. Far East, now in the stable of R. Register, suffered no ill effects from his winning run in the Tekapo Hurdles at Washdyke, and the Longbeach Hurdles should provide him with an excellent opportunity to make his record three wins on end. He is a well mannered horse and a rise of 111 b to 9.11 should not stop him. Studley Royal. The time is coming when Studley Royal will be schooled over hurdles. .He is engaged in the Longbeach Hurdles. Rebel Star Well. Rebel Star, despite increasing age, looks remarkably well. He is to be educated as a hurdler and has already shown an aptitude for the work in a few trials. Useful Form By Alma. Alma has shown some useful form over a middle distance this season and put up an outstanding run to get third in the Dunedin Jockey Club Handicap at Wingatui in February, as she did not get away with the rest of the field. In one start since she was unplaced in the Great Easter Handicap at Riccarton.' Her next start may be in the Ashburton Handicap. Due Soon for a Win. The Masterton-owned horse Counter is a slow beginner, but was running on strong! j' each day at. the Egmont meeting. Counter has had six successive minor placings and should soon salute the judge. Jockey Premiership. Leading jockey W. J. Broughton did not ride at Egmont on Saturday, be-1 ing after ducks. B. H. Morris and G. Ft. Tattersall also descried the saddle for the shotgun. Broughton and Wiggins each rode a winner at. Egmont. and Broughton’s total now is 4G; B. 11. Morris is still second with 43, and Wiggins has 41. Manawatu Cup Weights. The following are the weights for the Manawatu Winter Cup, I’m: Amigo 10.3; Classform 9.8; Quadroon 9.0; Du Maurier 8.11; Tidewaiter 8.4; Homily 8.3; Hunting Cat.
