FATAL SPIN
AIR PILOT & PUPIL KILLED NEAR MELBOURNE
PLANE CRASHES IN FLAMES.
VICTIMS INCINERATED.

MELBOURNE, May 5.
Two men were incinerated when a plane carrying an instructor and his pupil failed to come out of a spin, crashed and burst into flames on Campbell Field. 15 miles from Melbourne today. The victims were Clarence Cook, aged 25, the instructor, and his pupil, Charles Hake, aged 38, a solicitor of Albury. Mr Hake was being given instruction in aerobatics. At 25 feet the spin began and there was insufficient height for correction before the crash. Motorists rushed to the scene but were driven back by the intense heat.
