GOLF CLUB HUME MEMORIAL CUP. (“Times-Age” Special.) The position of the players at the end of the second round for the Hume Memorial Cup is:—J. Riwai. 144; T. Hume, 147; M. Waiwera, 148: G. Sutherland, 150; and M. Herangi, 152. These are the only players who have any chance of winning the trophy. The next competition is for the Campbell Cup (the best three net scores) over five rounds for men, and the Rose Bowl under similar conditions for the ladies. The first mter-club match will probably be against Martinborough. A presentation was made recently by members of the club to Mr Dudley Jones, who was secretary of the club for a number of years. Mr Trevor Hume, in making the presentation of a fountain pen to Mr Jones, expressed the regret of the club at Mr Jones’s retirement from an office which he had occupied with marked ability. Personal Items. Messrs T. Jennings and C. Todd have returned from Wellington. Mrs Hall and Miss E. Tilson, who have been visiting Wellington, have returned home. Mrs and the Misses McDonald are the guests of Mrs W. T. Hume. Mrs W. T. Hume visited Wellington for a few days. Mr Geo. Hanlon, an erstwhile resident of this district, is the guest of his sister. Miss Hanlon, for a few days. Mrs Carter and Mr and Mrs Burling, were among the visitors to the Exhibition this week. Mr Seawood, the new mail contractor, commenced his duties on Wednesday. ,
