WOMEN’S DIVISION

MASTERTON BRANCH. MONTHLY MEETING. At the monthly meeting of the Masterton branch of the Women's Division of the Farmers' Union held in Chilton Buildings, in the absence of the president (Mrs C. C. Jackson) Mrs K. Groves took the chair. There was ; very good attendance of members. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames C. C. Jackson. T. R> Barrer and Pike. Thanks were extended to Mrs W. James for having renovated the Division room.

It was announced that three large parcels of clothing had been sent in. and these had been forwarded to the country districts Red Cross Sub-centre The president made an appeal for leflofl clothing, buttons and beads, and also milk covers, as these were urgently needed for use by New Zealand soldiers in. Egypt to cover goods. A letter of appreciation from a member was received in regard to a housekeeper supplied in time of illness. A motion of sympathy was passed to Mrs T. Aplin, who is in hospital. Mrs Groves stated that Mrs Aplin liau been a long and valued member of the Division.

After the meeting, members adjourned to the Country Women's Club rooms and joined the Red Cross Society's working bee.
