SPORTS FACILITIES
MOVE TO SECURE EXHIBITION BUILDING. A MASTERTON PROPOSAL. A strong movement is on loot to secure for Masterton one of the capacious Exhibition pavilions for use here as a sports building. It is understood that many local sports clubs are vitally interested in the proposal, which."!' achieved, would enable adequate facilities to be provided to cater for all kinds of indoor sports bodies, such as basketball, badminton, wrestling, boxing, interhouse girls' activities, and others. A donation of £6OO has been promised. if the building is available, towards the cost of establishing it here and the aim is to open it free of debt. The building in view is said to be of such proportions that it would provide adequate accommodation for all requirements and besides sports, would be available for dances. Masterton sports bodies and the public generally will follow developments with the greatest interest, as at present some forms of sport are greatly handicapped on account of the existing facilities being inadequate or unsuitable.
