Miss A. M. Brown reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today:— Barograph, 30.14. Shade temperature: Maximum 68.1, minimum 45.7, terrestrial 34.8. Sunshine, 9 hours 2 min. SOLWAY RAINFALL. FIGURES FOR APRIL. Mr 11. M. Boddington reports that rain was measured at Solway on 17 days in April. The maximum fall was 70 points on the 27th, the minimum 2 points 'on the 15th and 21st, and the. total for the month 3.27 inches, as against 3.98 (1939), 9.96 (1938), 1.32 (1937), 2.52 (1936), 2.28 (1935); average for 37 years, 2.91 inches. The rainfall for the four months of the present year is 9.78 inches, as compared with 5.90 (1939), 21.09 (1938), 9.87 (1937), 19.65 (1936), 8.05 (1935); average for 37 years, 10.82 inches. Forecast: Light to fresh northerly winds later tending westerly or southwesterly. Weather - cloudy to overcast with further intermittent rain but conditions improving tomorrow. Temperatures moderate.
