MAURICEVILLE
TABLE TENNIS CLUB OPENING OF THE SEASON. (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a good attendance of visitors and members at the opening of the season by the Mauriceville Table Tennis Club. A very enjoyable time was spent, competition being very keen. Miss J. McGovern and Mr H. Myers won the combined doubles, Mrs Kenny and Mr P. O'Connor being run-ners-up. The handicap singles were won as follow: Men, R. Dick; ladies, Miss K. Larsen. The first “club night” was fixed for Tuesday, May 14. CROQUET CLUB POPULAR MEMBER FAREWELLED. A popular member of the Mauriceville Croquet Club. Mrs H. Freeman, was farewelled at an afternoon held at Mrs J. McArley’s resident yesterday afternoon. Mrs Freeman, who has taken an active part in the affairs of the Croquet Club, is leaving the district to take up her residence in Wellington. A happy time was spent at cards, the winner being Mrs Freeman. In an appropriate speech, the patron. Mrs Milner, made the presentation of a handsome piece of crystal to Mrs Freeman. Mrs Freeman suitably responded and extended an invitation to those present to visit her new home. Afternoon tea was served by the hostess.
