NEW ZEALAND APPLES
WELL RECEIVED IN LONDON. MARKET EAGER FOR MORE. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day. 10.40 a.m.) LONDON. May 2. A shipment of New Zealand Cox's apples made history, being the first marketed in London under the New Zealand Government Marketing Scheme, when they brought top prices on Monday. 17s. to 19s. Gd. a case, and yesterday 15s. (Id. tn 18s. 9d. Mi'. Harry Turner, London manager of fruit sales for the New Zealand Marketing Department, said both the first .shipment and the second, which is being unloaded, arrived in pleasing condition, considering war time difficulties. The market was eager for further supplies, which, ho believed, were coming forward satisfactorily.
