Nineteen .members sat. and the same gratifying results were obtained. Classes are now being held for sanitation and hygiene. Captain Galloway, Dominion Secretary, paid a visit to the branch and gave a comprehensive address on the history of the Red Cross movement. We are indebted to the scouts for allowing us to combine with them in farewelling Mr. Harry Piper, who is now overseas. Owing to the generosity of the residents the branch has been able to purchase wool and material to meet the requirements for those anxious to knit and sew for the sick and wounded. The excellent response to any appeal made by the branch, financially or otherwise, says milch for residents of Featherston and surrounding districts. Much knitting and sewing has been done by ladies of Kahutara, Pihautea and Western. Lake, while the people of Cross Creek have given the branch excellent financial support, for which the branch sincerely thanks them.
