Welsh, on account of ill-health, the following appointments have been made as from May 1: —Mr W. R. Eggers tc be chief accountant. Mr R. W. Cox to be deputy-chief accountant. In addition, Mr A. Ross is appointed a de-puty-chief cashier. The death occurred recently of Mr Walter Bell, licensee of the Cricketers’ Arms Hotel, Wellington. Mr Bell, who was 6’3 years of age. was born in Coromandel and was in lhe licensed victuallers’ trade for 27 years, being licensee first of the Junction Hotel, Kawa Kawa. He was also proprietor of the Imperial Hotel. Thames, and leased the Star and Garter. Coromandel, and lastly the Cricketers' Arms. Wellington. At an executive meeting of the New Zealand Employers' Federation, held in Wellington yesterday, it was announced that Mr W. E. Anderson had been appointed to succeed Mr T. O. Bishop as secretary of the federation. Mr Bishop having resigned to take] over the full-time secretaryship of the New Zeal md Coal Mine Owners' Association. Mr Anderson has been connected with the Auckland Employers' Association for nearly 20 'years, lie was the employers’ representative with the New Zealand delegation io the 1.L.0. conference at Geneva in 1957. and served for a shorl period as Hie employers' representative on the Second Court of Arbitration.
