PROVINCIAL STOCK JUDGING COMPETITION. WAIRARAPA SUCCESSES. Wairarapa Young Farmers were prominent in the prize-list at the stockjudging competition organised by the Wellington Provincial Council of the New Zealand Federated Young Farmers' Clubs, and held at Marton. Ten teams of six members each competed. In the class for Southdowns, N. Wyeth (Wairarapa B), 156. was first, and M. Hancox (Wairarapa A). 155, second. The winner received the South Breeders’ Association medal. H. McKenzie (Wairarapa B), 145, was second in the dairy cattle class, and V. Gates (Wairarapa B). 135, was equal third with a Wanganui competitor. In baconer pigs, H. McKenzie (Wairarapa B), 160, was first, and L. Hansen (Manawatu A), 155, second. J. Rose (Wairarapa B), 105. was second in the horse class, and G. Blatchford (Wairarapa A), 90. fourth. There were also classes for Romney; and Herefords, but Wairarapa competitors was unplaced in these sections. A lawn tennis championship match for a challenge cup presented by the Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., resulted in a win for the Manawatu A team, with a total of 664- points. Wairarapa B. 662 points, was second.
