WEDDING

PRATT—LARSEN. The Presbyterian Church was the scene of a pretty wedding on Saturday last when Rona Mary, only daughter of Mr and Mrs E. J. Larsen, Martinborough. was married to Edward James, fourth son of Mrs and the late Mr 11. Pratt, of Shannon. The ceremony was performed by the Rev John Mann. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a lovely trained gown of white lace over satin, cut on classical lines with close fitting sleeves, and the front trimmed with pearl buttons. The long embroidered veil was caught to the head by a halo of orange blossom, and she carried a sheaf of cream gladioli and begonias and maidenhair fern. The bride was attended by Misses Z. Azlin (Wellington), T. Killop (Martinborough), and Lorna Hausman (Wanganui), flower girl. The two bridesmaids wore becoming frocks of princess blue embossed taffeta, slightly trained from a small bustle, from which extended a row of liny buttons to the neckline. The bodices were shirred and full puff sleeves finished the frocks. They’ wore blue shoulder veils with silver flowers and carried sheafs of pink roses and delphiniums. The flower girl wore blue stiffened Swiss muslin with puff sleeves and tiny frills and carried a Victorian posy. The best man was Mr D. Larsen and Mr G. Pratt groomsman, the ushers being Messrs J. and D. Pratt. As the bride left the. church she was presented with a pearl horseshoe by little Jennifer Wilson.

The reception was held in the Parish Hall, the guests being received by Mrs Larsen, assisted by Mrs Pratt. The former wore a frock of navy rippled satin backed marocain, navy hat and accessories, and carried a posy of autumn leaves and red roses. Mrs Pratt wore a Burgundy frock with matching hat and accessories, and carried an autumn-tinted posy. The three-tiered cake was made and decorated by Mrs Mclntosh, of Mahaki. An interesting feature of the reception was the presence of the bride's two grandmothers, who travelled from Palmerston and Mauriceville respectively. Mr and Mrs Pratt left later on a motor tour of the north.
