CABARET CLUB
INAUGURAL GATHERING. Gaiety prevailed at the inaugural gathering of the Black, and White Cabaret Club, hold in the Savage Club rooms on Saturday evening. The decorated hall presented a delightful picture the stage being arranged in contrasting shades of black and white and with the aid of a red and blue lighting system, the silhouetted setting was shown to every advantage. In the main hall Chinese lanterns intermingled with silvery stars lent an atmosphere of warmth, and those present were quick to respond, their high spirits indeed expressing their obvious joy. Several visitors from Wellington were among those present and these as well as local club members eagerly await the next function. The success achieved on Saturday night was largely due to a very capable committee.
