CENTRAL SCHOOL

PARENTS' ASSOCIATION DANCE. LARGE CROWD PRESENT. Another of the fortnightly series of the Central School old time dances under the auspices of the Parents' Association. was held on Saturday evening in the School Hall. The hall was tilled early in the evening, and it was decided to close the doors shortly alter nine o'clock. The committee wish to apologise to the people who were turn ed away, but felt in duty bound to those already admitted that it was necessary to adopt such a measure. Music was supplied by Barnes'; Rhythm Boys, and extras were played by Messrs. Coddington and Hood. The Monte Carlo was won by Mrs. Cross and Mr. Herd. The duties of M.C. were most capably carried out by Mr. W. R. Nicol who took the opportunity to remind patrons that an election for both the School Committee and the Parents' Association committee would be held in the school tonight at 7.30 o'clock. Both of these committees had held office for two years. As this was the last dance under the control of the present committee he wished, on their behalf, to thank patrons for the support accorded during their term of office. He sincerely hoped that, the same would be extended to the new committee. The next dance to bo held in the School would be on May -1.
