WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
MEETING AT UPPER PLAIN. DRAMA CIRCLE TO CONTINUE. ('■Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Upper Plain Women's Institute was held at the home of Mrs Clements, Mrs AV. Taplin, the new president, presiding. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded Mrs Clements for the use of her home for meetings of the Institute. Matters in connection with the Drama Circle were discussed and members decided to carry on. The first meeting is to be held at Mrs C. R. Jones's home on Tuesday. Mrs Tankersley made a number of suggestions to the Garden Circle. Miss O. lorns gave a very interesting talk on her trip to Holland. The “Wandering Shilling” went to Mrs Scott.
The competitions resulted as follows: —Rainbow cake. Mrs C. R. Jones. 1. Best bloom. Mrs Steer. 1; Mrs C. R. Jones and Miss B. Pain (equal), 2. After the hostesses Mrs Dagg and Thomas had served afternoon tea the meeting was brought to a close with ihe singing of the National Anthem.
