Sir William Firth, chairman of the Fichard Thomas Company, has been removed from office by a control committee of which Mr Montagu Norman (Governor of the Bank of England) is chairman. The dismissal is believed to be the result of a difference of opinion on managerial policy. The company is a steel and tinplate combine, with a capital of eighteen millions.
