There is a chorus of resentment in the Press concerning implications by the American Secretary of State, Mr Cordell Hull, that Japan is harbouring aggressive aims against the Dutch East Indies. One newspaper says it will inflame and not restrain, the Japanese, who are angered over unfriendly and unnecessary American interference. “WILL BE RIGHT BACK” IF ANOTHER COUNTRY IS INVADED. PRESIDENT ROOSEVELT'S FAREWELL. WASHINGTON, April 19. Commenting, "If another country is invaded, I will be right back.” President Roosevelt departed for 10 days' holiday at Warm Springs. His special train, will remain in constant readiness. At a Press conference, Mr Roosevelt had previously endorsed Mr Cordell Hull’s statement on the subject of the Dutch East Indies. NAZI INTRIGUES DEMAND FOR PRECAUTIONS. LONDON. April 18.' The latest move against the Germans in reported from the Dutch East Indies, where the Fatherland Club has petitioned the Governor-General to take precautions against any disloyal subjects. The club expresses uneasiness about the activitie of local Nazi movements and alleges that there are Nazi sympathisers among the authorities on the islands.
