Y.M.C.A. CARD EVENING
BRIDGE AND FIVE HUNDRED. Although the state of the weather was sufficient cause to prevent any one from venturing out, the Bridge and 500 evening arranged by the Y.M.C.A. Ladies' Auxiliary last night was attended by over 50 people. The bright Association hall, comfortably heated, provided a pleasant setting and the players entered with a will into the evening's keen competition at the game of their choice. The Bridge prizes were won by Mrs Rue, Mrs Corskie, Mr Williams and Mr Griffiths; and the. 500 by Mrs Williams, Mrs Ackerman. Mrs Newlands and Mr Clarke. At the conclusion of play, the ladies, under the direction of their president. Mrs H. E. Pither. served an enjoyable supper. The evening proved so successful that it has been decided to hold similar functions fortnightly, on Thursday evenings, throughout the winter months. The next fixture is for May 2. It has also been decided to record progressive points and to award prizes for the highest aggregate score, over a period to be decided upon at the next meeting of the Ladies' Auxiliary, on April 30.
