POWER BOARD

MEETING AT CARTERTON. YEAR’S FINANCIAL POSITION. (•‘Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Wairarapa Electric Power Board was held at Carterton this morning. Mr. A. Campbell Pearce presided. For the year ended March 31. 1940. it was reported, the total net revenue was £75.119 and the total expenditure £69,204. the net profit, for the year being £5914. Revenue increased by £BOlO and expenditure by £8824. The items of expenditure in which lhe main increases were recorded are as follow: Cost of power. £3301; interest, and loan repayments. £1089; ' reconstruction. £1407: maintenance distribution. £812; salaries. £753; depreciation. £547. The turnover in the trading department was £26,430 as compared with £29 955 for the year ended March 31. 1939. a decrease of £3524. The total capital expenditure for the year was £ 15.2y9.
