SUBSTANTIAL INCREASE IN EXPENDITURE. (British Official Wireless.l RUGBY, April IG. Income tax in the first two weeks of Hie present financial year yielded £11.242,000. an increase of £2,202 000 compared with the corresponding period last year. The total, ordinary revenue at £32,843.623. shows an increase of £4.850.455. The ordinary expenditure, less self-balancing items at £87.348.299 is almost £21.000,000 higher. The total floating debt outstanding on April 13 was £1.465.005,000. This was a net decrease since April 1 of £32.395 000.
