CROQUET CLUB CLOSING OF THE SEASON. i (“Times-Age” Special.) At the closing day for the season of the Featherston Croquet Club the trophies won during the season were presented as follows: — A championship (Eva Card rose bowl) —Mrs Saunders; runner-up. Miss Lyford. B championship (Wakely cup).—Mrs E. O'Neale; runner-up, Mrs A. Donald. ,C championship. —Mrs R. Donald; runner-up. Mrs Thomson. Matthews cup (handicap singles).— Mrs E. O’Neale; runner-up. Mrs Benton. Saunders Memorial cups (handicap doubles). —Mrs R. Donald and Mrs A. Donald; runners-up. Mesdames Saunders and E. O’Neale. The afternoon competitions were won as under; —Euchre —Mrs Baker 1, Miss Skipage 2. Consolation; Mrs Lowell. Jumbled words. Mrs Wilson. Peg. Mrs Luke Smith. Guessing competition, Mrs M. McKenzie. Personal. Mrs A. Clapshaw has returned from a visit to Wellington. Patriotic Effort. The cake which was donated to the local provincial patriotic funds by Mrs Stan Benton has been won by Mr Matthew Ahipene. The cake realised £3. Girl Guides. The Greytown. Martinborough, and Featherston Girl Guides will hold a sports gathering in the Recreation Grounds in Featherston on Saturday afternoon.
