DIVER’S FEAT
RESCUE MAKES A RECORD. We have perhaps often experienced the sensation of going up to unusual heights, but. imagine the feeling of going down five hundred and ten feet beneath the surface of a body of water! The pressure must have been truly awful! Yet. such was the experience of a diver recently. Nor was the feat performed in an attempt to establish a record. Rather, with the usual bold daring of deep-sea divers, Robert Hansen descended, in an armoured suit, of all places into an abandoned, flooded slate quarry in an attempt to locale the body of a young lad therein. It was while engaged in '.his task that the new record was established. Thus this veteran of twenty-six year's experience. has exceeded by ninety-nine feet (ho depth established several years ago by Italian divers seeking to salvage valuables from the hulk of a sunken ship.
