AIR FORCE BUSY
MORE ATTACKS ON NAZI BASES BOMBS DROPPED ON STAVANGER AERODROME. EXTENDED AND SUCCESSFUL OPERATIONS. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day. 11.50 a.m.) RUGBY. April 14. The Air Ministry announced: Operations and reconnaisances by The Royal Air Force overthe North Sea and the Norwegian Coast have continued during the last 24 hours. At dawn this morning, Stavanger aerodrome was again made the target of a low-flying attack by our aircraft. Salvos of bombs were dropped and a hangar, runwfty and a number of enemy aircraft drawn up on the aerodrome were damaged. Anti-aircraft fire was encountered but our aircraft continued on their way and delivered ■ a further attack against the enemy in Hafsjord, where they machine-gunned l a number of seaplanes moored on the water and silenced an enemy machinegun post. UNTRUE REPORT ISSUED BY GERMANS ALLEGED SINKING OF BRITISH CRUISER. STORY DEVOID OF FOUNDATION. (Received This Day, 11.5(1 a.m.) (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY April 14. The German statement that a British cruiser of the Glasgow class has, been torpedoed is devoid of foundation. LOSSES AT NARVIK < BRITISH OFFICERS KILLED. (Received This Day. 11.50 a.m.) 1 RUGBY, April 14. t Names of those killed in the first Narvik sea battle include those of Captain Warburton Lee. The list also contains the name of one other officer and three seriously wounded.
