BRITISH TROOPS FOR NORWAY MORE BOMBING ATTACKS BY BRITISH PLANES. GERMANS IN DIFFICULTIES IN OSLO. The following Daventry announcements have been rebroadcast by the New Zealand national stations:- — The people of Norway have again been advised per wireless from London to expect the arrival of British troops. The message was one from trade unionists in Britain. The Admiralty has issued a casualty list for the H.M.S. Hardy. Two officers and 14 ratings were killed, including the Hardy's commander, and three officers and six ratings seriously wounded while two ratings are missing. The latest news of British action in Norway is contained in an Air Ministry communique, which states that another bombing raid on Stavanger aerodrome was carried out at dawn yesterday. British aircraft made a lowflying attack and damaged a hangar and runway. A number of German planes parked in the aerodrome were damaged. The attack was made in spite of heavy anti-aircraft fire. The British planes then attacked a number of seaplanes in. another fiord and a machine-gun post was silenced. The Norwegian Army Headquarters state that the defences in the district round Bergen are being actively organised. There is little doubt that the 'German advance is being checked. German forces have not advanced more than 50 miles from Oslo. The Norwegian forces are fighting back with some success in some places. In Oslo, the Germans are meeting with many difficulties. The city is without electric power and transport, and the Germans are said to be short of food on account of the Allied blockade, and food is being rationed. “UNHEALABLE WOUND” M. REYNAUD ON NARVIK ACHIEVEMENT. (Received This Day, 10.30 a.m.) PARIS. April 14. The French Premier, M. Reynaud, telegraphed Mr N. Chamberlain congratulations on the Narvik success, which he said had “inflicted on the enemy an unhealable wound.”
