The much-needed soaking rain did not prevent an excellent attendance at the City Tattersall's Club races at Randwick on Saturday. The chief results were: Denman Stakes.—Anne. 7.2 (Whitney) 1; Penthides. 8.1 (O’Sullivan) 2; Radical. 7.11 (Cook) 3. Ten started. Neck; four lengths. Time. 1.141. Tattersall’s Gold Cup, one mile and throe furlongs. — Billposter. 7.10 (Hughes) and Santa. 7.0 (Watterson> dead-heat for first; Pluius, 7.10 (Thompson) 3. St Constant was scratched. Plulus was two lengths behind the winners. Time. 2.30. The dead-heat created an awkward situation in regard to the destination of the cup valued at £lOO unless the owners come to a mutual arrangement. It is quite likely they will toss for it. ASCOT RACES WIN FOR AURIE'S STAR. MELBOURNE. April 14.
