SPARTAN WOMAN
TEETH & TONSILS REMOVED. NO ANAESTHETIC USED. A Harrismith (South Africa) woman recently approached a local doctor and asked him to remove all her teeth. The doctor suggested that she go to hospital. be placed under anaesthetic, and then have them out. This she refused to do. even refusing an injection, merely sitting back in a chair while 30 of her teeth were removed. She asked for a cigarette, got up and walked out. Some time afterwards she again entered the doctor's surgery and said that she wanted to have her tonsils removed. The doctor said she would have to wait as no beds were available at the hospital. She seemed surprised at the mere suggestion of going to hospital for such a trivial operation, and asked that they be removed while she sat in the chair. Her request was again granted. The tonsils were removed and she did not make a sound, again asking only to be given a cigarette after the operation. Her case is considered to be unique.
