HELP FOR GREENLAND

MAY BE GIVEN BY AMERICA IF DANISH SUPPLY SHIPS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. STATEMENT BY PRESIDENT. By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright. (Received This Dav, 11.30 a.m.) WASHINGTON. April 12. President Roosevelt told a Press conference that Greenland is more closely related to North America than to Europe. He proposed that the American Red Cross organise summer relief for Greenland if Danish supply ships are not available. He added that the question whether the Monroe Doctrine applies to Greenland is premature. He is considering Greenland’s problems from a humanitarian point of view raher than politically.
