STAFF FAREWELL
MR. J. H. IRVING LEAVES FOR CAMP. Mr. J. IT. Irving, manager of Messrs. G. H. Perry & Co., Ltd., who left Masterton today for military service with the New Zealand Forces, has been granted leave of absence by the firm. Mr. S. R. Divers has been appointed manager and Mr. M. C. Finlayson secretary and Mr. I. I. McGregor has joined the firm as accountant.. Last evening Mr. Irving was the guest at a complimentary gathering of the staff. Mr G. H. Perry referred to Mr. Irving's many good qualities and to his services to the firm during the past 17 years. He congratulated Mr. Irving on his appointment as commanding officer of the Second Training Battalion at Trentham and wished him every success, expresing the hope that it would not be long before he would again be back with them. On behalf of the staff, Mr. Divers presented Mr. Irving with a wristlet watch. Mr. Irving thanked the members ot the staff for their gift and good wishes and expressed his regret at the circumstances which necessitated his temporary absence.
